Studies show that sanctions, regardless of success or failure, have widespread, damaging effects on various sectors of sanctioned societies, including the economy and health. Iran has been under severe sanctions by the United States, the United Nations and the European Union for a long time. Considering the importance of this issue, the motivation of the current research is to understand the effect of economic sanctions on the economic growth and health status of Iran. In order to achieve this goal, a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model, bayesian approach, and adjusted seasonal data related to the variables of GDP with and without oil, consumption expenditures, investment expenditures, government expenditures, foreign reserves of the central bank, Oil revenues and the growth rate of money during period the time period 2001.03.21-2022.06.22 have been used. The results showed that sanctions shocks reduce oil revenues. Due to the dependence of the government budget on oil revenues, the government faces a budget deficit and is forced to money create. This leads to an increase in inflation, and a decrease in the real wage rate and real interest rate. In addition, due to the decrease in people's motivation to invest in health, the hours of exercise have decreased. Reducing the hours of exercise has caused a decline in health status. Based on the results of model estimation, it is suggested that by using appropriate policies and existing capacities, the dependence of the government budget on oil revenues should be reduced as much as possible.
