Examining Total Factor Production Under Economic Sanctions

Abstract

Productivity and its growth, improvement of factors of production including labor force and improving competitiveness of the economy are important issues that have been noticed in Resistive Economy general policies. This study aims to investigate total factors productivity under economic sanctions using DEA method and Malm Quist index during 1358 to 1394. Results show that sanctions have different impacts on different sectors productivity. During the study period, transportation sector had the best and industry sector had the worst productivity. Results also show that productivity variations in any of the three industries, is mostly influenced by technology variations.
