Peer Review Process

The Peer Review Process in the Journal of Defense Economics and Sustainable Development includes the following steps:

1. Manuscript is submitted to the journal website. This includes: filling in the information form, uploading the manuscript in the required format, submitting the Authorship Form, Conflict of Interests Form, Copyright form and article Similarity certificate.

2. Reviewing the article by the journal expert and if there is a defect, returning the article to the author for some structural corrections (On average, the screening process takes less than 5 days).

3. If the above information is completed, the article will be checked by the editor to determine the degree of suitability with the subject area of ​​the publication. (On average, the screening process takes less than 7 days)

  1. If the editor's opinion is positive about the mentioned cases, the article will be sent to an expert for comparison.
  2. If their opinion is negative, the editor will send a letter of non-acceptance of the article to the author.
  3. If the similarity percentage of the article is according to the criteria of the publication, the article will be sent by the editor to 2 referees at the same time (All the steps of assessing a manuscript is double blind, that is neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other).

4. Reviewing the article and announcing the opinion by the referees along with completing the evaluation form and informing the editor about the quality and quantity of the article

5. Following the assessment, Four cases may arise:

  1. If the manuscript is accepted by both reviewers and confirmed by the EB members, it will be accepted.
  2. If the manuscript is rejected by both reviewers, it does not go further steps and is returned to the author.
  3. If revision is requested by at least two reviewers, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.
  4. If the reviewers fail to reach an agreement, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer for further assessment.

6. The revised manuscript will be sent to the final reviewer.

7. The final decision of reviewer is announced--whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.

8. Approval of the arbitration process in the meeting of the editorial board of the publication

9. If the article is rejected, the author will be informed; if accepted, it will go to the next stage. (Final review will take one to two months).

10. The waiting time for articles to be printed depends on the number of approved articles.
